Child Enrichment Program

As part of the Child Enrichment Program in Yugan County, Jiangxi, I led a team focused on empowering underprivileged children through creative education. Drawing from Orff's music education theory, which integrates rhythm, movement, and imagination, we designed a unique music literacy tool to foster children’s engagement with music. Our initiative earned the Most Innovative Award and a speaking invitation at the Public Welfare Forum, where we secured a 500 RMB grant to enhance and implement our design further.

In partnership with a local school, we offered a volunteer-led curriculum covering music, art history, and cultural studies on China’s ethnic minorities. I developed an 8-lesson music manual based on Orff’s principles, designed to make music education accessible and enjoyable, especially for young girls who may have limited exposure to the arts. Additionally, we launched an online "One Hour After Class" program to connect volunteers with the children, offering diverse subjects such as robotics and STEM. This initiative not only expanded the children’s learning opportunities but also ensured that girls in particular had equal access to these enriching experiences.
